Costs & Coverage
The cost for individual and couples counselling is $150/hour, plus GST. The cost for neurotherapy is $150/hour, plus GST.
Counselling and neurotherapy costs are covered under many extended healthcare plans and disability insurers. As of December of 2022, all members of BCTF have coverage for RCCs.
Financial hardship should not be a barrier to accessing mental health services, if you yourself have these constraints, please reach out! Ellen is here to help.
If you have questions regarding coverage or how to access it, please contact us!
SUPERVISION
As a part of offering supervision to graduate students, Ellen is able to provide a lower cost counselling option. If you are interested in learning more about receiving counselling with a practicum student, please contact Ellen!

A little about Tanis (she/her), Ellen’s current practicum student
I am currently in my final year of a Masters in Counselling Psychology from City University, and am seeing clients under the clinical supervision and mentorship of Ellen Connell (MA, RCC #137) as part of my counselling practicum. I have experience supporting clients with injuries or disabilities from various perspectives. I hope to use my knowledge and understanding of the recovery and rehabilitation processes to help clients re-establishing their identity and life goals.
I am passionate about helping clients recover from unexpected injuries, chronic illnesses, or major life transitions. In rehabilitation treatment, addressing the negative impact on mental health that significant life changes create is often overlooked. Life-altering events frequently affect multiple domains of life, including daily activities, social engagements, and returning to work or finding meaningful employment.
Whether you’re facing a difficult life transition or feel emotionally overwhelmed, reaching out for counselling support is a great step in the right direction.
My approach is focused on optimizing client functioning, emphasizing psychosocial adjustment to living with limitations or adapting to challenging new circumstances. This might include supporting clients to move through identity transitions, finding meaning and a refreshed sense of purpose in life.
Our work together will draw from a person-centred and integrative lens. It may incorporate aspects of cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and narrative therapies.
